Hello and welcome - to the joys of feeding
Chances are he probably wont eat for a couple of weeks after moving - you're welcome to give him a try though. Try him late in the evening in a dark / dimly lit room - preferably in a separate box. Something I've found to work quite well is a shallow tray style box, with a towel draped over half of it creating a "den" for the snake - then with tongs offer the mouse / rat just in front of the covered section; hopefully he'll strike and take the mouse inside the covered area.
Good luck |

Hi and welcome
Congrats on getting your snake, im sure everyone on here will tell you that royals can be fussy eaters at the best of times. Especially after a move, but don't be disheartened. My first royal feed 3days after I had him so there is still a chance you'll be just fine.
Good luck |

Hi - they're all different and as others have said, no harm in trying but give the snake as much privacy as possible if it's a shy feeder. Have you been given any info about how the snake likes to feed - is it a strike feeder from tongs or does it like its food left in with it?
If the meal's refused - don't worry. Leaving the rodent in with the snake overnight (in the cool end) is fine, but after that, don't keep on offering - bin the rodent and wait until the next designated feeding day. The snake won't starve and will appreciate the extra settling in time.
Good luck and keep us posted. Oh, and welcome to the forum! |
