Austin, lovely snake! Can I ask though.. Do you find it hard to keep the humidity up during the shedding process? I have a similar tank and it takes a bit of effort to do it :) |

Yes! I knew she was gonna shed but wasn't gonna try to up the humidity till she cleared up and on Friday her eyes were still quite cloudy and come Saturday morning she had shed, well I say shed, she had only got half off but it was really dry and shredded. Kane's viv is easier to keep humid but the faun is difficult, what do you do for humidity? |

Guys, my little one is in a faun, and when she's due to shed, I up her sprays to twice a day, and lay a warm damp tea towel over the top of the lid for a few hours each evening, and she sheds no problem. You could also cover some of the lid with cling film after spritzing to help create a higher humidity. You could also buy a cocoa liner for plant pots as that will trap the moisture and help keep a more humid environment. Or having a damp face cloth on the warm side when in shed. Hope that helps. |

Ahh I've been using damp moss and also bathing aswell, the bathing make it come off almost instantly! |

Damp moss is a good option too, just making sure you check it daily to re-wet it should it need it. Generally I find that for day to day humidity, the natural environment provides enough, with an occassional spritz every few days, and like I said before, upped to a couple of times a day during shed, which always does the trick. Another things is to just make sure that with being in the faun, that the tenperatures are always ideal enough, as I found that they are more susceptible to fluctuations along with the area they ate kept in. I found this during the winter, the 2 fauns suffered more from the temperature change in the room and house with heating and such like, so i tend to keep an eye out more on the fauns than my vivs, which also goes on to affect the humidity (atleast this is what Ive found in my house!) |

When i had Charlie in the same faun, i had a piece of plastic (with air holes in) that i taped over the top when he was about to shed. As well as that i put a lump of soggy kitchen roll in the end with the heat mat. This would keep the humidity at about 85% and he always shed cleanly.
Now he is in a 3 foot viv i leave the water bowel in the hot end all the time which keeps it at about 50%. When he is about to shed, i spray twice a day and again, he shed jst fine.
Awesome pics too, she looks great :)
