i took some pics while setting up an re-sealing williams new viv. moved the reptile radiator to the other side so its the same as my other vivs
guard an stat probe fitted
tied up the wires
moved the vivs around
left it running overnight to get the temps settled an for the sealant to dry out an in he went
need to find some big branches to go in there now and im going to change the substrate from newspaper but not decided what to use yet, something very absorbent. i also really like the reptile radiator that came with the viv as you cant see it from the outside an seems to hold the temp very well |

Cool! He's a lucky lad - and if he gets bored he can read about Rosy lol.
I find aspen the most absorbent of the traditional substrates, and Mystra swears by Megazorb, which is really cheap if you buy a bale (don't know any prices offhand.) I've just had a 22k bale of Aubiose delivered for I think £17 but although it looks just like aspen haven't used any yet so can't vouch for absorbency but it's advertised as being super absorbent.
Boa-tiful boa and setup! |

Looking good, one thing I would say is the weight on top of the vivarium not been on the supported part will warp/bend the roof and the doors will get stuck. |

cheers lotabob, the weight did cross my mind but its a solid custom build viv an the 4fts ontop have chipboard backs so not too heavy an the doors went in ok after putting the 2 4fts ontop but will put some support as it may warp as the reptile radiator does kick out a hell of a lot of heat so need to get some radiator foil to stop the heat transfer.
thanks jaine i definatly want more boas |
