Just tried to feed lumi for first time today and she came out of hide sniffed the mouse a couple times then grabbed it by the top of its head and dragged it to her hide so im happy one of my snakes isn't shy on eating lol wish Marty would do that.
Just one question since she dragged it to her hide she wasn't on the kitchen roll id put down for her to eat on so not to swallow any aspen will i be better off cleaning out her faun and just use kitchen roll until she's a bit bigger to be safe or will the aspen be ok?

I think aspen will be ok. Aspen is the only substrate I've used in the 4 years I've kept snakes, and I've always fed inside the vivs/rubs. A bit of ingested aspen won't do any harm.

Ok thanks will leave it as it is then looks like she prefers hiding in the stuff rather than her hides anyway lol

All mine feed on their substrate as well, occasionally get some go down with the rat but it's not normally any big deal. I read an interesting article a little while back suggesting feeding on tissue paper was just as dangerous, had a picture of a small boa that had grabbed the tissue with the rodent and had no choice but to consume the whole piece of kitchen roll as well, apparently the boa died from eating the tissue :(
