ok, I was trying to feed amber a rat yestoday, no luck (don't forget she is a little midget lol) and It started getting me annoyed.
So, I was speaking to Don and he said to try her with a mouse, (you know where this is going now don't you?) so I did and guess what...
She eats it.
The problem with this is that I wanted to keep them all on Rats. I guess she can stay on mice until I beef her up a little lol.
Good job ratchet and clank aren't so fussy...
(I am hoping to get a video of ratchet striking soon, one nasty striker!)
So, Who else hates how awkward royals can get? |

Congrats on the feeding
Mice are ok when there small
Switching can go either way
Some convert easy some need tricking with a mouse defrosted with the rat/rubbed on the rat
I'll second that with awkward royals
I have a little pastel/lesser thats well scared of the rat when I dangle it
He will strike but it's a bloody job to get him to |

I got a 1200gram mojo
That was just fine on rats
Till she decided to fast for 3 months
So I had a "bright" idea I'll just try one xl mouse to start her off
Yea it's started her of alright lol
Now the bloody thing won't feed on rats :( lol
So my rule from now on is if they fast
I'll let them stay fasting
till they will go for the rat

| My Sas wont strike. Just sits there looking at it flicking his tongue! Ive tried dangling it, moving it along the floor, nothing. So I lay it over his log and he sniffs it then casually takes it. Yesterday he did drag it really quickly into his hide. Awkward git! |

oo, I'm a yearling now :)
and yeah, clank used to make me leave it with him and then after 2 or 3 feeds, he started striking for it ;)
Strange though as Amber's strike is better than clanks and clank is more than double in size lol.
I think I may weigh them all today. See how there all going :) |

Agreed. My lot will eat whatever...live, dead, rat, mouse(or 3). Not a fussy bunch. |
