We put down a deposit on our first (and supposedly only, but we'll see) Royal yesterday.

Hardly a baby, but I'm not known for my patience. At least I know he eats well and he seemed very friendly and calm in the shop.

Have to wait a couple of weeks to pick him up as I'm pupating some Hawk Moths in the viv at the moment.

Sorry for the poor pic, but it was just a quick snap on the phone before he went away again.

Lovely royal! I'm on my first, too, although I'm already wanting another! Going to wait until Penelope's a bit older before getting another though

A few more pictures from Ripley's first hour home

He's spent the whole time exploring his viv, which quite surprised me as I thought he'd hide away until he was left alone.

I'm really pleased he's so chilled.

Having explored every corner of the viv, he's now gone off to the cool hide.

I knew I'd get a decent picture eventually. Just had to wait for him to sit still.

As for getting a houseful, my wife says a definite NO.
