Sweet dude thanks. Just out of interest is there somewhere on this forum that explains the difference or is there an easy way to tell? |

Oh dear, MTV! really? -tuts- I'm not great with boa's but I believe BCC is the red tail Columbian Boa which is obviously very red on the tail? Correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure Chris knows more about this than I |

Lol MTV rocks!
I had initially wanted a red tail boa, they are beauties, but I ended up buying this dude one day when I was only looking a new viv! He was soo skinny when I got him and he can get pritty grumpy at times lol
Thanks for the advice dudes. This forum rocks, dunno how I never came across it before lol |

Agreed! BCI for sure. There are a few ways to tell the difference between BCI and BCC. As mentioned, their saddles differ greatly. BCI saddles look like this: ) ( Whereas, BCC saddles look like this: } { They call those "points" in the saddles Widows Peaks. Also, a BCI head is a little more blocky and wide...whereas a BCC's head is more angular, long and narrow. Finally, the tail markings can help make a definitive identification. BCC tails are a very vibrant purplish tinged red and they can keep this color even into adulthood. BCI tails start off vibrant red, but usually dull out to a more brownish hue in adulthood. Your BCI looks fantastic, Cookie and looks to be about the same size as my male, Diablo. :) |
