I've had my pastel since the end of May, and she's still really angry. She's only fed twice in this time which I'm not too concerned about (at least she has eaten).
She's perfectly healthy from what I can see, I have seen urates once, but no poo. And she's had her first shed with me, which was perfect and in one piece.
Anyway, I have only tried to handle her a handful of times because of the lack of feeds she's had. and every time I try to handle her she tenses up and then strikes at me, not actually biting me, just more of a defensive kind of strike. I have tried picking her up from behind really slowly, picking her up fast, putting a sock in with her for a few hours that I've had in my pocket etc etc.
Could anyone give me any advice on how to handle her or make her more comfortable being picked up?
My other royal is like a puppy dog so it's quite a shock when she strikes at me.

| I have a video in the video section about how to handle royals that right help you but all in all is a mixture between patience, she probably will grow out of that behavior. And courage, just get in there and pick her up doesn't matter if she's biting :-) |

My second royal was like this and it just so happens it's a female lol, and like you I was very shocked as my first male was or should I say is really laid back, but as Kelf said I just carried on as normal picking her up on a regular basis and I have to say it wasn't much fun as more often than not she wouldn't miss  and she drew blood on more than one occasion but the only thing that was different for me is that she's a great eater and ever since i've had her she hasn't missed a meal, in fact she still looks for food after i've fed her, but the good news was the striking stopped about two months after I got her, but I was putting my hand in her viv on a daily basis, I've always found that if I wash my hands so there is only the scent of soap on them and slowly put my hand in palm up she would slowly come towards me have a smell and then just ignore me, after realising I wasn't food or wasn't offering any.
