As my rack is nearly ready I'm looking for a good idea how to place thermostat probe. I know it would be probably best to put it directly into the rub but when I pull the rub out and then pus it back in the probe will probably move. What would be best solution for that? Cheers

I have my stat probes in a 0.7l rub hot glued down on the mat
I also fill it right to the top with substrate then pop the lid back on

On my other rack
The probe has duc tape around it
Then hot glue gunned down

if you have the space for a 0.7 l rub or not

I find both work well

Just have a play with it to see what works best for you
I use to have it in the rubs last year and it was a pain in the ***

Again this is how I do it
Others may do it different

On my rack I won't be able to fit small rub as there is no room for that. All I can use is about half an inch on each side of the rub (outside of it) and about one inch on the back. The rack is fully closed (apart from the front) so probably it won't give me too many choices. That's what I thought - probe in the rub doesn't seem to be a great idea.

It should be ok as its inclosed
The ambient shouldn't be affected to much
Mines open and it holds fine

Just make sure when you push the rub (with the probe) back it don't know the probe
Have it running for 24//48 hours and keep checking the temps at diffrent times on the day / night
