Hey all, long time no speak! (where the hell is BATS these days anyway?)

Anyway, I have a dumb question that I'd rather ask on here, than get shot down for asking on RFUK :D

So I bought Monty in December 2011, she weighed a little over 300grams but was pretty skinny really, and was a little under 3 foot in length. This has got me thinking - how old is she?? I've always assumed CB11 hatchling, but now I'm not so sure. CB10 perhaps? I don't know too much about growth rates.

Opinions appreciated as always!

When did they say she was born? and how much does she weigh now?Could be late 2010 or early 2011.

It's really hard to tell,as different factors play a roll to.

Well they guy working in the pet shop didn't seem to know, I think he said "about a year or so looking at his size". He turned out to be a she.

It is hard to tell - I see people selling CB10's that are smaller than Monty was when I bought her occasionally!

What do they weigh when they hatch? 20-30 grams? So if, for example, she hatched around this time 1 year ago, that means she put on around 300grams in 5-6 months. Feasible? She weighs in at 1100grams now.

If there has been no stall in feeding and it has fed regularly then she could be anywhere between 1 and 3 years old, lol. Duke is a mid 2010 and is a bit heavier than your girl but not a lot. I would think 2010 would be a safe bet to do your calculations from.

She was pretty skinny when I bought her, but was quite long, just under three feet I'd guess. She is a champion eater for me and has never skipped (yet) and is a nice chunky size now which is nice to see - not squidgy fat, she's kinda like a 50p shape... sort of.

I'm starting to think she may be a 2010 baby, not 2011. Its difficult to tell though isnt it!
