The other night I noticed my royal had dug himself out the back of his cave, I was quite surprised by this as the cave is very heavy. I just kind of laughed about it. Then tonight I noticed he was rubbing his nose against his tree/branch thing. I took him out and it seems he has damaged some scales on his head. Theres a thin flap of skin sticking up off his one of his nose scales. Also in the middle of his head the scales look cracked and a sort of lighter colour. So now to my questions:
Is there anything I can do to aid his healing? ive seen you can get "zoo-med wound healing aid" would this work?
Would it be worth replacing his cave for something like a big piece of bark to save future injuries? Or will he have learnt his lesson? He never seems to learn when he falls off his branch, he just goes straight back up, then a few minutes later.... "THUD"!!
I have about 6 different hides that I normally swap in and out each time I clean him out. Might just ditch the cave coz it doesnt have the smoothest surface.
Wow, sorry for the essay.

if hes just snagged a few scales it will heal up on its own an probarbly be all sorted after his next shed. if you go over the hide with some sandpaper an smooth off all the rough/sharp edges then he wont have anything to snag himself on |

I had the same a few weeks ago with one of mine. There were 5 or 6 scales on his back where he must have caught them on something. He shed a couple of weeks ago and they had healed with the shed. I'd just leave him be I think he'd sort himself out |

thats nothing to worry about and will fix itself.

if it's that bad,and not just broken scales, then yes that stuff works. |

Theres not actually a wound with blood or anything, just an area on his nose and middle of head where the scales look cracked, and now look a bit dry. Hes due a shed in about a month, so hopefully he will be all sorted by then. It is obviously bothering him though. thats twice ive seen him with his head on its side, rubbing it against his log. |
