Posted - 30/12/2012 : 22:31:21 Well guys from what I can see it is a BCC. From what I've been told but will be taking him to be confirmed n sexed. Apparently it's a male but not 100%. He's 5 years old. Recent owner had for two years.
If anyone can tell me if he is a BCC then please say. Only got a few pics as had cleaned his tank. Handled him etc n will be bed time soon. Lol
He has just had a shed. And the last owner didn't really help with the odd parts so I'm going out to get something for him to rub up against etc to remove loose bits. So please mind the shedding.
He's about 6-7 foot stretch. So will be nice to see.
Please enjoy the pics so far.
His tank all cleaned under the red footed tortoise..
Getting used to me. God he's a weight...
I won't let go... Like I have a choice...
Chilling on the floor...
Chilling..

Posted - 26/01/2013 : 18:48:15 Yeah that's why I'm feeding him smaller at mo. so I no he's taking it down as I feel he was regurgitating before I got him. So wanted to make sure he was taking something instead of nothing. But he is really tame. I'm lucky and he's really good. Especially when his shed around his chin stuck and he let me get it off for him. |

Posted - 26/01/2013 : 09:33:08 He's lovely, and seems really tame with you already : )
Defo get him on large Rats though. It'll do him so much good, 'cause he is on the skinny side. Don't worry, he'll be able to take a large meal. And if you can get him fattened up I'm sure it won't be long before he's onto his yummy bunnies. |

Posted - 25/01/2013 : 16:56:25 even if you are feeding him little and often i would still feed him something much larger than that. |

Thanks, and yeah I no. I'm feeding him little n often at the mo. he had 3 move in 2 days. So just making sure he's feeding well n taking something down as he's under weight when I got him. Just to be on the safe side :) will build him up bigger |

Posted - 20/01/2013 : 18:02:49 The shedding diary. After starting to flake at my mums I got bison home and soaked his tank so it was humid. Hoping for a great shed. As the last one from previous owner was very rough. So hoped n preyed I could help the long boy.
Cheeky look.
All rough n ready.
Rub rub rub
Like peeling an orange
Flapped over.
Had to assist a few areas n make sure he was very moist to help. But all in all a great shed. Only today did I have to help remove a few bits from his chin n neck.
But I'm so happy he's looking million time better. |

Posted - 04/01/2013 : 15:07:18 It means that your Boa most likely is not a Red Tail. You bought him as a Common and I am 99% sure that is what he is. Common by type perhaps, but an uncommonly beautiful Boa all the same :) t really doesn't matter unless breeding and you couldn't sell the hatchlings as red tails anyway without certicates of proof from both parents. So now relax and enjoy Bison, he really is a lovely fella. |

Posted - 02/01/2013 : 16:59:38 Fitted him a temp sensor today. In one side. Waiting for my other ones to turn up. But here we are...
Going to wait for the aqua seal to dry. Then tidy up the cable etc so it looks neater. |

Posted - 01/01/2013 : 23:34:18 Not sure I'm going to try him on smaller food for a bit and try and build him up each week. Coz I don't want him bringing it back up. Otherwise will be a waste. Then ill work him up to medium/ large rats. |

Posted - 01/01/2013 : 23:01:07 Sounds good, should be able to fatten him up no problem, my boa has an amazing appitite goes between rabbits and eats. What size rat you planing on using looking at him from pictures I reckon he could take large no problem. |

Posted - 01/01/2013 : 22:46:19 Just measured him on the kitchen floor. And he's not quite 7 foot as I thought. He's 6 foot 3. But underweight. So I'm going to sort the heating out this week and then start to fatten him up. |

Posted - 01/01/2013 : 18:35:41 Yeah I no. I just can't be bothered lol and the fact the other half says im too involved in my snakes than her lol
I'm going to go down workshop in a bit. And get my tool bag. As I might fit the thermometers into my python tank. So they flush with front of tank. And leads run on inside as I got them just on top at mo.
And then I'm going to do the same with my boa tank. This week when they arrive lol and I'm going to measure up the back so I can rebuild that Tomo. And make a more appropriate vent instead if two little circle vents |

Posted - 01/01/2013 : 18:26:57 i like the look of bark an the bigger snake's just move the aspen all over the place.
i would sand down or cut the end off that bit of branch just so he doesnt catch himself on the pointy bit's |
