Hey Guy's.
I have 2 royal's 1 called spike and 1 called sizzle's. Spikes healthy and eats and moves around alot and poos.
Sizzles moves but she dosent eat. Well, she does but only live food. I dont want to carry on live feeding her as ive seen and heard storys about it and i dont want bad things to hapen to my snake.
Is there any way and any suggesgions on how i can start feedin ready killed prey

she didnt take dead prey again so i just popped down to cold bloded and got live feed agin as slightly worryied bout her wait....... im gunna feed her up on live before i try anything with dead....

Ok cool, is there a cheapish digi thermometer with two probes? Or would I be better getting two of the afore mentioned ones?

That one only has one probe, so you would need two if you wanted to measure the temp at both ends. I leave it in all the time, the thermometer sits on top of the viv and the probe goes in through one of the vents along with the probe for the thermostat. |

i would get 2 if i was you, i leave mine in at all times, on display where you can easily see them, easier than putting them in daily and then waiting for temp to get right and disturbing your royal |

mite try feeding today....... dunna wether shell take buh got here out last nite n she seemed alot mre active than wen she did wen she was with spike in the viv...... |

this is the digi i use, but you can get better ones, these work fine and are pretty accurate

ok, throw it away...they are no good at all..
you need a digital one, which can be obtained cheaply on ebay
once you have them seperated i would also advise getting either ceramic heat on a pulse stat with the bulb guarded or an infrared bulb on a dimmer stat again with the bulb guarded...
heat mats are more for use with royals in rubs and for young royals, bigger ones need other heat sources, they can get thermal burns on heat mats to..,

do you know what the temps are hot and cold end? how are you measuring the temps? is it with a dial or digital thermometer?
i am guessing that might be the start of what needs changing, as that viv looks huge, but it might be deceptive..if it is big then temps might not be reaching what royals need to be kept at, a heat mat will not heat the viv.

are you feeding them both in the same viv? and at the same time?
whats your temps like? how are you measuring them?
what is the light in there? you dont need it
nice viv, but maybe more hides..lol..but that would just be my preference..

thats sizzles in one of the pics there. thats the size she was when i first got her. its not the best pics buh its te best i have atm. we got here that day and put them both together. they were the same size and both tokk to the feed a few days l8r. buh now she hasnt eaten spikes bigger.
