Hannah, my normal female has been in shedding mode for about a month now. Eyes have gone dull and cleared and are now dull again. Her viv conditions are still the same as when i first got her in April,.
Is there anything i should do? She`s never managed a full shed, the skin has always remained on her head from the tip of her nose to just behind her eyes and i`ve always had to assist.

Yes been worried more in the last few weeks bout my royal i've just got than the 10+ years i've had my corn! I think partly as the snake is about 2 years old, I didn't get it from the best pet shop (they didn't keep history etc.) and so don't know what conditions he was kept in before.

Because we are either good owners or inexperienced, abit of both in my case, im slowly learning not to worry though(only been an owner for 6 months) im learning that they are quite hardy little creatures, keep the temps correct, keep their vivs clean, fresh water and they should be fine.

Wow, she has finally shed, only taken 7 weeks.
hodgie Posted - 24/10/2009 : 19:35:52
I`ve tried everything i can think of, as i`ve posted before her eyes have now gone very cloudy so i`ll wait till they clear and see what happens.
Dibzy-Time Posted - 24/10/2009 : 12:08:28
why dont u try put some damp tissue in a pillow case. put you snake in, tie the pillow case up and put it iin the midle of her tank inbetween the hot and cool end? that might work. its worked for sizzles when i had her

If she doesn`t shed this time then she`ll be off to the vets.
Dibzy-Time Posted - 22/10/2009 : 22:57:18
Why dont you take her to a rep shop and get her looked at if she dosernt shed and explain the situation. If that has no output take her to ur nearest vetanerian and get her seen 2 ???
Good luck

Her eyes have really clouded up now so hopefully she will shed soon, she hasn`t eaten for 6 weeks now so im expecting to have a hungry girl soon.

Im in need of advice here guys, she still hasn`t shed. She`s refused food twice now, never done this before. I havent seen one bit of shed.
I have noticed though that her right eye is quite often indented (dehydration problem) but she has access to fresh water everyday.
Like i`ve stated above she`s never managed a full shed without assistance.
So what do i need to do please? We are around 2-3 weeks since her eyes cleared.

was talking to Anne the other day, and mentioned Stig had a crappy shed, she mentioned one of hers didn't shed as well as normal, wonder if its something to do with the time of the year as well?

Moss hides should help.
