Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie here and about to get my first snake, I have looked after my friends King Snake a few times before but that is the only experience I have had. I have been doing a lot of research but I haven't seen any advice on the best age too get your royal python. I have been looking around and the youngest batch I have seen so far are 6 months old, but I was wondering if I should be looking for something younger?

Many thanks for any help you can offer me.
Paul

My 3 royals were all bought as young hatchlings, I have had no problems feeding them and it's great to watch them grow and become more familiar and also to see there different characters develop

I got Princess when she was three, I haven't had any feeding problems with her, and she's never balled up. I did miss out on seeing her grow up, although I'm getting to see that with Feather.

Its liklely that an older indevidual will be an established feeder, so you will get fewer problems trying to get it eating.

Agree with both of you.

However, I like to watch them grow from hatchlings too.
