been moving vivs to free up some room. now have space for another viv or 2. mmm what to get next, more royals, carpet or a boa?

chrisc Posted - 30/10/2011 : 19:12:12

That home made one would be perfect for something Aboreal... Good excuse to get a carpet

Nice set up.
I never had my humidity stable, it always moves between %45-%70 :P

iv got my water bowl in the middle of my 2 foot viv for my normal. that viv is on a bulb and the humidity is 55-60%. she still likes her damp hide tho... reckon iv got a shed on the way.
chrisc Posted - 30/10/2011 : 01:25:09
same here bats i only fill half way so nothing comes out when they bathe

Looks great, and a happy snake too.

Mine have water bowls the same size in their 3' vivs and when they're in blue I move the bowl into the hot end and they shed fine. Surahi had a bit of skin stuck last time but it was during that freak hot spell when a couple of my colubrids had bad sheds despite extra humidity. I don't find the large bowl causes any condensation or anything like that - mind you I usually half fill it, so that if they get in, the water doesn't get out.
chrisc Posted - 29/10/2011 : 21:23:27
yea hopefully they do. they both seem much happier now their in clean viv's with proper heating
Evolution Morphs Posted - 29/10/2011 : 21:21:56
Cheers blackskull for that

Hope they enjoy there bath chris
chrisc Posted - 29/10/2011 : 21:19:24
thats good to know. will move it when she goes blue. need to give both my new royals a bath. their a bit dirty from the disgusting bedding they were on when i got them
blackskull Posted - 29/10/2011 : 21:13:31
i have a bowl that size in my 4ft viv at the cold end and humidity is around 50%
chrisc Posted - 29/10/2011 : 21:08:43
there at opposite ends so dont think it will be a problem. will het a hmidity reader and check at some point
Evolution Morphs Posted - 29/10/2011 : 21:06:55
I was just wondering as with the heat coming of the bulb and the water bulb in there
It must up the humidity a bit

I may be wrong
chrisc Posted - 29/10/2011 : 20:49:58
thanks. to be honest i dont know. i only up the humidity when their shedding the rest of the time its whatever the natural humidity is in my house. which im guessing is around 50-60%
Evolution Morphs Posted - 29/10/2011 : 20:43:29
