A few shots of my male axanthic, Scar, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary together :)

He was wild caught in 2000, sold to NERD, sold again to CPR and sold again to come to me :)

He's fabulous Kelf. A big ol' boy indeed. Is an xanthic a royal? I ask because he is so big and I'm still not sure on how big the royals get.

Scar was caught a long, long time ago back in 2000, it still goes on but I don't think so miuch anymore.

Sadly yes ...according to Kevin McCurley in 'The Complete Ball Python' it's like Eldorado out there ...there's even what he calls a 'ball python mafia' ...

Mind you, if the wc snake gets a good home, like Scar, he'll have an easier time of it and a longer life than in the wild.

All about money and hidden genes/new morphs

Just curious but why are royals still being wild caught? Aren't there enough being captive bred?
