Hi all! I know that a number of you keep other herps as well, so I'm asking for your input. I'd like another type of snake for a display tank and some variety. I'm considering a Dumerils Boa because of their docile nature and handleable size. I'm completely open to other suggestions, keeping in mind that I don't want something bitey and unhandleable, or something that grows over 6 or 7 feet. Thank you in advance :)

It is! The pic doesn't do him justice. He's all pinks and corals, amazing little creature. The kids have named him Fluffy :)

I found a male Dumerils here in town, a 2012 boy, and am going to go have a look at him tomorrow afternoon. He's apparently very calm, and is coming from a good Royal breeder, whom I trust. I'm very excited! Pics to follow if I take him :)

All baby boas have a higher tendency to nip but most ig not all will tame down nicely very quickly. I will sing the praises for A slightly larger dwarf Boa, the Hogg Island Boa. Colour changing snake, that pretty cool, and they are pretty too. They have a reputation for being a bit nippy which is slightly true but not anything you can't handle when they are little and they grow out of when they are bigger.

Lol

My CRB is a real softy, never hissed, struck or bit. I'm not sure if the BRB's are different?

you could go for a GREEN TREE PYTHON, I have heard these rarely bite (lol joke) But seriously I would go for a royal morph but that is just me. If not then I am +1 on the Hognose (as long as it is Albino, they look much better) ;)

Fezzes, I thought BRBs were bitey? They are fairly easy to find here. No Dumerils fans?

Close, I was putting him in his feeding tub and didn't notice Jane waggling the mouse about before I'd finished getting him in. (deliberately, I'm sure) lol.
