might be a daft question but are the red night spot lamps infa red?
or is it just snakes cant see red light?

there was originally a ceramic in there but it broke an the red bulb was cheap. as much as i like seeing him about at night im going to go back to a ceramic when i get paid just so nothing disturbs him during the night

They can see all light. Red is less intrusive and thats it. Red is not infra red, though infra red bulbs aren't true infra red either in my opinion but I use them and they are a much softer light than any other light emitting bulb. I'm in the process of switching to ceramic heat bulbs that emit no light.

Edit to add: Royals can see heat with their heat pits so any heat source is visible to them.
