had monty for a week and a half feeding day is tuesday hes not fed for the last 2 weeks
iv tried everything suggested iv read on here and last night i even rubbed the rat in the hamsters bedding
he shows intrest but last night he was more intrested in trying to get out the viv!!
my hubby is convinced the rats are too big for him but they are the ones the guy in the shop gave us iv posted a pic of the rats size what do you think?

Dunking them in water is stressful and the most common response to it is immediate fleeing. Damp is just damp, wet it wring it out, job done. Its dark and confined so strangely keeps them calm, I had to fight Duke back out of there he liked it and his bad shed came off within an hour of been put back in the vivarium. made a right mess in there but worth it to keep him comfortable. |

thanks bob ill do that tomorrow how damp is damp? or i was thinking of giving him a quick dunk in the kitchen sink thought that would be less stressful than the bath? and im going to get more rats tomorrow shall i get the same size or a bit smaller? |

The bad shed wont be helping, will be feeling quite uncomfortable, might be wirth a quick trip to a damp pillowcase for 20 minutes or so, use your hands to make him move through the case, that dead skin will be off in no time.
I wouldnt worry too much about not feeding it takes a while to settle them in and at that weight a few weeks off the grub wont do any harm at all. |

1110g hes 19 months and over 3 foot heres a couple more pics
also he shed last tues and there are still a few bits of shin that havnt come off would this affect his feeding? |
