Posted - 12/06/2012 : 10:06:05 I think I've read about this and have searched but can't find the thread I was thinking about.
Penelope is getting ready to shed - her eyes are blue. I was looking at her today and she was 'whistling' a bit when breathing. It sounds like it's coming from her nose, rather than a 'chesty wheeze', so I'm thinking it's just the skin starting to loosen and vibrating a bit when she's breathing.
Does that sound like a sensible assumption?
Never been through a shed before so this is all new to me and I just wanted to check |

Posted - 12/06/2012 : 13:10:43 Yes, mine do it sometimes.
I once had to help a royal with his mask and eyecaps, and I was amazed at the plugs of shed that emerged from the nostrils and heat pits, more visible I think because his head was wet; on a normal shed I suppose they soon shrivel to nothing and you don't notice them but yes, there is skin in there that will come away.
Good luck with her shed. |

Posted - 12/06/2012 : 11:07:37 Hi, yea I think your right. I've saw that thread too, and I can remember reading about the whistling from the nose. I've never heard mine do it but it must be relatively normal, so don't worry :). Hope she has a good shed for you. |
