I think I've read about this and have searched but can't find the thread I was thinking about.

Penelope is getting ready to shed - her eyes are blue. I was looking at her today and she was 'whistling' a bit when breathing. It sounds like it's coming from her nose, rather than a 'chesty wheeze', so I'm thinking it's just the skin starting to loosen and vibrating a bit when she's breathing.

Does that sound like a sensible assumption?

Never been through a shed before so this is all new to me and I just wanted to check

Hi, yea I think your right. I've saw that thread too, and I can remember reading about the whistling from the nose. I've never heard mine do it but it must be relatively normal, so don't worry :). Hope she has a good shed for you.

Yes, mine do it sometimes.

I once had to help a royal with his mask and eyecaps, and I was amazed at the plugs of shed that emerged from the nostrils and heat pits, more visible I think because his head was wet; on a normal shed I suppose they soon shrivel to nothing and you don't notice them but yes, there is skin in there that will come away.

Good luck with her shed.

The skin of the nostrils is bit tight that's all so it whistles, they whistle when its tight, click when its loose, noisy bleeding things.

Funniest noise out of Duke is I'm certain he sighed.
