although they are the same year the female could have come from a clutch later in the year, taken longer to get feeding or both.
there is no usual size each snake is different. ideally you want to be feeding 10/15% the weight of the snake in prey size, i.e if the snake is 300g feed a 30g rat.
there is a feeding guide on here somewhere, if bats comes along she knows it off by heart |

Hi - some royals just are small. I have one myself - when I bought her she was a year older than my first boy - and 50g lighter.
When you think about it, people are all shapes and sizes too.
As long as she's eating well and making a nice normal mess every so often, I don't think you need worry. There IS a method called 'power-feeding' but I'd avoid it like the plague - just leads to obese snakes and limited life expectancy imo.
Out of interest, what does she weigh? As before, there is a big variation in royal sizes - she may not be far out. |

lol you said it Blackskull - yeah
royal 0-400g feed every 5 days 400-800g every 7 days 800-1200g every 10 days 1200g+ every fortnight
devised by Blackecho and a very good guide too and yes as Blackskull says, 10/15% of royal's bodyweight. |

Sounds about right to me though of course they're all different. With colubrids I go for a prey no larger than one and a half times the girth, and with a 3 month corn I'd be feeding weekly. Hope this helps. |
