Posted - 13/09/2012 : 12:55:02 So my little pinstripe is about 2 and a half years old now, she's weighing in at about 300g which is veery tiny. I'm starting to think that maybe she just won't ever get to a safe breeding weight, maybe breeding isn't meant for all snakes.
What do you guys reckon?
She's not unhealthy she does eat on a semi-regular basis, she never fasts for a worrying amount of time but she's just not a feeding snake, she'll normally eat once a month or once every two months. |

Posted - 13/09/2012 : 18:49:24 Don't give up. :) My Isis was a late bloomer. She would only eat live white mice for so long and never, ever seemed to gain weight. She stayed small for the first year and a half, then she started to put on a little weight here and there. One day, out of the blue, she started eating frozen/thawed mice...and then to my absolute delight, I tried a frozen/thawed rat and she slammed it down. Now she's picking up weight continuously and is doing great. :D I think once they reach that stage of: I need food and I need it NOW! they really kick in to growing. It's just getting to that point that is the frustrating part, lol. Best of luck with her! |
