but how do you know when you buy one that it will not lose its pastel coloring when it is older as some i have seen seem to...
how do you avoid this?
or is it a natural occurrence? |

Posted - 02/08/2009 : 16:21:52 It is one thing that puts me off pastels...love the colours wen young but they do brown out and can end up looking like a normal. |

Not sure about Graziani, Nerd's 'Lemon' Pastel is supposed to be the best at holding it's colour though I believe. |

if i got one would i be better going Black Pastel?
or a Graziani or VPI or just from a really good breeder?

Posted - 02/08/2009 : 09:31:43 It is quite natural, most will do it. Lemon Pastels are less likely to brown out as much and if you can afford a Super Pastel then they don't seem to (probably because they have 2 Pastel genes).
Be careful of people selling normal pastels as 'lemon' just because they're bright as a hatchling, have a look at the Pastel parent and see how they look. |
