hi guys i just wanted your advice on this please as im unsure wot to do.
i noticed that my female royal had blue eye on wednesday 24th and has not shed as of yet. she has only shed once and it was in pieces with a the odd scale left on around tail area.
She is due a feed today and is a good feeder normaly. i was wondering if i should skip the feed and just leave her to shed in peace or if i should just carry on as normal and feed her??
dont want to stress her or have bad shed due to her belly being full.
cheers |

if you offer and she doesn't feel like eating then at least you've given her the opportunity. if she doesn't usually shed very well put a moist hide in the viv - it can be as basic as a clean margerine/icecream tub (depending on size of snake) with damp spagnum moss or vermiculite in. alternatively you can mist the viv once or maybe even twice a day when she's about to shed. |

could try moving the water bowl to the hot side when in shed to help to keep humidity up |

Just be aware that if you have it at the warm end then it won't stay moist for long so you'll have to keep checking it and remoisten when required. |

just to let you guys know that i tried to feed her out of her viv but wasnt interesed, so i put her back in the viv with the mouse to see if she take it later (she is on newspaper). within 5 mins she had dragged it in to her cool hide to eat it.
i removed the hide so she could eat it properly cos she likes to raise up wen eating.
i have put the moist hide half over the heat mat to warm it up and raise the humidity a bit aswell to aid with the shed. |

Scratch that, he's just come out of his moss hide all shiny and new and left behind a nice long shed all in one piece.

To be honest, it was his first whole shed, he usually does it in a few bits. I gave him a bath last night so maybe that was what he needed. |

How long do they normally take to go from blue eyed to finished? |
