I got a new royal python monday, he is 2 years old and perfectly healthy. However, is it normal that he hasnt come out from his hide at all yet? He is moving about though.
Sorry if the answer is obvious! |

I never see mine, unless I peak in at night.
They're nocturnal |

It's all part of him settling in to his new home, don't worry. |

Maybe think about leaving him longer before offering food? I left mine ten days on the advise from here and im so glad i did. He was clearly settled and ready for food by day ten although was actually due a feed before then from his previous owners 'routine'

Some royals take longer than others to settle and some royals just hide away naturally as BE said...
My new royal is not shy and he fed for me today....
But they are all different...
as long as your set up is ok and he is healthy he will let you know when he is ready to feed...... |

If you want a display snake a Royal is not the one to go for. My Boa is out most of the time. |

Thanks for all the replies, he's still a little shy but he enjoyed being outside his hide tonight |
