Just been and checked on the little rescue guy this morning to find wot i believe is a mite on his tail. Emptied his RUB to find acouple more scurring about...DAMN!!!
only found about 4-5 in his RUB. his RUB is kept in another viv which is empty and showing no signs of mites (it is maple coloured so mites would show up) so i think/hope that it is contained just to his RUB. I have cleaned him out threw away the wooden hides and put fresh kitchen roll down and have bathed him this morning and now he is having a soak in some vegatable oil to hopefully suffocate any left behind that i cant see.
Gonna monitor him and hopefully that should be the end of it.
hopefully i caught them early and cos it was a RUB its harder for them to breed/lay eggs etc and hide. The advice i have been given is from a trust worthy source so fingers crossed i dont have to go down the whole sterilize everything route cos with 7 vivs and a RUB its a big job.
just given him a bath in vegertable oil and there was a few minute floating bits at the end. dunno if they were mites or eggs or wot cos they were minute but he seemed to like it and said thank you by relieving himself as he ran through to towel...dirty boy...
So sorry if they have come from here Daz (as I have already said). I have checked everything here and they all appear clear, but I am now on high alert! He was kept downstairs when here. I'm guessing he was carrying eggs as I honestly didn't see anything on him.
Just carried out a Shock and Awe style surgical strike on the little buggers. Changed the kitchen roll, squished anything and everything that looked remotely mite shaped. Had a look at him when I got him out but couldn't see any on him anywhere. Gonna keep a close eye and commence chemical warfare if I see any more. Forget Chemical Ali he's got nothing on me

I got a small tub and filled it with enough veg oil to cover his body and popped him in for 30mins-ish. Just like having a bath. took him out and let him run thru a towel to get most of the oil off him. I also let him run thru with his head lower than his tail to drain any out of his nostrils.
Be warned mine fully emptied wen running thru the towel...
