well she is not nervous really, but i will post this here anyway.

One of my corns Quetza, is really strange...and i am not sure why she is doing this, but i will ask and you lot can tell me

In her viv she is always really nervous and flighty, the minute i get her out she is as calm as anything...

I dont know why she would be like this, but it is weird, i had her out just now, but as soon as i put her back in, she was in panic mode again..

Anyone got any ideas as to why?

Think of it another way. While you have her, she stays still because she doesnt want you to eat her. When you put her down, she tries to do a runner from the predator. Im not saying that thats a 100% what it is, just something to think about.

The only other reasons I can think of are if her viv is too open or unclean, but im sure neither are an issue.

Hi Matty, she is not in a big viv, it is only 30 inches by 15 by 12 she has a flower pot, a margarine tub then a wooden hide covered with a plant and a log and a empty kitchen roll to hide in...

i hear what your saying, but when i let her down on my bed or where ever she does not panic to run then..and she does not panic when i am near her then either...

it could be something i am doing...

she is always out watching me or my animals to..

I am wondering if that was why she did not feed last night, cos something spooked her...

i think it is my other animals that are causing it, she comes out when they are there and sits upright like this

and just watches them..

I was going to bring her down here in the stack but i think it might be to busy for her nwo..

could always try her with some net curtains? ok laugh, i know, but she'd feel less exposed but could still see out of the front of the viv. i was seriously considering doing this for Dumbo before i moved him into his latest accomodation (small tub/RUB)

Thats a good idea GP.

i do cover her at night because i dont trust my cat to not be at the viv glass hassling her..she might also not be in the best place..i may well move her down here this week, but put her in the top viv...at least she will have peace at night...

its funny cos peanut never seems to be bothered...even when he first came here, he was ok and he was more exposed than she is now..

I hope she will settle and be ok..

even to me it sounded a silly idea but there is logic behind it. glad it's worked too WS hopefully when she's more settled she could have her curtains half drawn and then fully open? lol

snakes tend to get quite protective over their terratory, that may be y she gets a bit skittish when she sees an intruder lol, both my royals get a bit silly when i get them out of their viv but when they are out they ar fine, thats because they know your not going to hurt them, shell get better over time im sure but i think most snakes are probably like that, its probably just a terratorial thing
