Digital or stick on dial ones? I use the Exo-Terra digital ones with probes and have no problems at all with them.

dont use them, but i imagine they would be ok..they are digital so anything other than a strip or dial has to be better i think...

even if you do get one you should still try and measure the temps with another thermometer as well, that way you will know how accurate they are...

Before you pay out for new thermometers have you tried changing the batteries? Low battery power will affect the accuracy of the device.

As Daz says, I use these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dual-Zone-Digital-Fridge-Freezer-Thermometer-With-Alarm_W0QQitemZ400047012044QQihZ027QQcategoryZ43421QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

They are more expensive than the single Aquarium ones (which are very good and only about £3), but they have 2 probes, one for each end, and you can set it to sound an alarm if a certain temperature is reached.

I've got the same as Blackecho, there really accurate and have an alarm. You can read both the cool and warm sides on one display and you can see max and min temps so you can make sure that the temps are sustained. They're ideal.
