Rat Fluffs are the next size up, but can be hard to get hold of, I think you can get them from 888 Reptiles online, but might work out quite expensive. Otherwise you could just try and pick out the smallest weaners you can find in your local rep shop. |

of course that's easier said than done though.............
your telling me,mine was fine with rats then suddenly is scared stiff of them, show him a mouse and he nails it straight away.
I think that the feeding response is better with a mouse because they reek to high heaven. Defrost a rat in a freezer bag then open it, smells a bit but it's not too bad. Do the same with a mouse and JEEEEEEZUSSSSS!!! They can't resist.
reek to high heaven is an understatement...
i picked up some mice to breed for the corns and have only had them two days and they stink so have decided Kazz can have them and i will stick with multi's
but its odd you saying about the smell cos Multis have no smell at all..and yet royals love them...

That shoots my theory down in flames then What about the rodent's heart rate? Does a mouse have a higher bpm than a rat? When I've seen rats in the wild they seem to lope along as opposed to mice that look like they are on speed. |

i was once told that when rats and mice die they urinate and depending how many are culled together it can make for a pretty horrid smell..
which might explain why the rats/mice stink sometimes when they are heated up. I hate the smell of rats it is horrid
Kaz so far has now taken both multis and rat pups no probs iF only it was this easy on defrost. |

Or a live, followed immediately by a defrost. |
