This is the first of many questions so hopefully you wont get bored with me. I am building a viv which is 23" by 21" by 18". How long is this likely to last a 2 month old royal and what size would i need for an adult. Is a 36" by 18" by 18" big enough or will a 48" by 18" by 18" be better. Ok sorry that is two questions.

hiya, the royal would be ok in that viv, if, you pack it out, with hides and plants,
if not then a rub would be better, will last it ages, royals dont tend to like to much space.,...and would rather fit into something that is way to small for them
I put peanut my royal into a 3 foot viv after he was sick, he was then 8 months old and was fine, but i packed that out to...i had five/six hides in there, and lots of cover plants and logs to make it seem smaller..... |

slightly off topic , but the way i explained it to the kids the other day when they chirrped up with "i feel really sorry for Ra, in that tiny tank" went like this... you know when it's really cold outside, and it's raining really hard, and there's thunder and lightning and it's really dark. don't you feel all safe and warm and cosy snuggled up tight under your duvet in bed...? cos that's sort of they way i see it. :D sorry for the diversion lol.
It says in the care sheet that a viv length + depth should be roughly the length of the snake. As WS says though you can go bigger and really pack it out with lots and lots of things, to the point where it seems like there's no room to put the snake in sometimes LOL |

Lol its a smiley, its a machine giving answers. Feed in a question and out pops an answer. If only it was that simple. Just thought it seemed appropriate. |
