I missed this (not been on the forum for a few weeks) but -tain is latin for to hold/ grasp. Examples with the suffix -tain would include obtain, contain, retain etc.

Mancunian, could really have done with your help before it was handed in but never mind lol. I don't think anybody in the class knew what they were on about so no harm done. My boy could have done with the gold star though, he got in trouble due to his mates taking the mickey out of charlton getting relegated. Sounds a bit more stable there than here. We've got a mixture of English, Welsh and Irish grandparents so all hell breaks loose when the 6 nations tournament starts. It's great . My eldest supports Wales for some strange reason. He's happy at the moment but normal service will be resumed by England soon.........I hope
