hi all i have now sorted the temperature out. now i have also got a digi thermomator i have the probe for the thermomator on the floor in the hot end the other probe in the cold end and my dimmer probe is in the middle of the viv the dimmer is set to to 30c the cold end is showing 19.5c but the hot end is showing 37.9c does this seem ok because the dimmer hasn`t dimmed is the dimmer probe in the right place because the light is constantly on all advice is greatly recieved

you want the dimming probe directly under the lamp or on the nearest wall at ground level

as above..

the dimmer will stay bright till the temps are reached..then the bulb will dim down..

you should be aiming at 31/33 hot end and 26 cool end...

The light will always be on, it just dims and brightens. The temperatures need sorting though, that's far too hot.

Don't trust the dial on the thermostat, trust the digital thermometer and adjust the thermostat until you get the desired temperature.

The usual place for the thermostat probe is under the light on the substrate, but it shouldn't really matter as long as the thermometer probe for is at the hottest place the snake will be, i.e. on the substrate under the light.

yes, i have mine tied together with my thermometer and probe together..

just in case you have not seen this there is an excellent care sheet on this forum,

thanks for the help i have now put them together and it has dimmed now just nice it`s reading 32c and 24c
