hi guys,
you know i've had my coco for about 3 weeks or so now. i tried to feed her a couple of rat pups but she wasn't interested so i gave her 2 fuzzies at the past 2 feeds she's had with me. i was just wondering if you all think i should give her something bigger than a fuzzy. maybe a small mouse? i haven't been able to check the bunlge on her body after feeding as she hides away as soon as a mouse goes in her mouth.
here's crappy pics of her showing her body size..
do you think i should just try giving her 1 small mouse a feed or should i still to 2 fuzzies at a time for a while? or would something bigger be better..?
sorry for the rambles! :) |

Yes, Royals can take small mice from hatching. But I'd keep trying Royals too if I were you. |

hehe thanks :D yeah i think i might try something bigger for her. i worry that she won't be getting enough food atm. i thought i'd try her with something little just to make sure she'd feed okay at first. maybe i'll try getting small mice for now and then try a rat again sometime |

How established a feeder is she?
I'd get her feeding regularly then try rats, that way if she misses a feed at least you know she had a lot of food recently |

i did this and it worked for me.
i put two rat pups in a bag with some mice so it got the smell of the mouse,
took them both no bother. |

i'll try to get hold of some bigger mice for her to chomp on later or tomorrow. thanks :D |

That's good, just be aware that they can get addicted to a food type, so the longer they are on mice for the harder it will be to convince them that rats are food. |
