what size vivs are you using for your adult royals?
i got a viv exotic today and compared to what i have peanut in it looks tiny,
it is a 3 foot one, but Peanuts is 36x24x24
is the viv exotic going to be big enough for an adult male royal? |

| I will be using a 3' viv for my royal soon, had it for ages I just havent got the heating sorted. The snake is 3'5"-ish and 900g. Depending on how big she gets I will consider a 4ft later on. |

This is Echo's viv, just finished it off today, am waiting now to get temps right then he will go in it..

Though that was when Surf lived in it, so its changed a bit now, its a 60x45x45? exo terra. I kinda wanna change them all to 36x24x18 tanks.
I like the fact that all mine seem to like the extra height in their vivs. Only thing that is putting me off is the amount of money I would loose on all the vivs I have now.
TBH a 2x1x2 (lxdxh) would be perfect for almost all adult Royals |

Here's my mob:
The top two are 36" x 18.5" x 20" and the bottom two are 36" x 15" x 15". Godzilla is in the top left, Biggles and Ginger are top right, Matilda is bottom left and Sherman bottom right. Poor old "The Hoff" is still in his quarentine RUB in our lounge at the moment but he will be moving into the top left. It looks a little industrial at the moment because it is a work in progress. A 6' x 3' x 3' is being built to run across the bottom to house Godzilla. It should look better then because all of the metalwork will be gone.....hopefully

The two 36 x 18.5 x 20 vivs are supplied flat pack by Vivexotic and really easy to put together. You just need to seal the joints with silicon sealant. The two 36 x 15 x 15 vivs were supplied ready built. They can be stacked fine as long as the sides all line up otherwise the board will bow and eventually break. The 6 x 3 x 3 is being built from scratch by my own fair hands. My work at university is so fiddly and fragile that sometimes it feels sooooo good just to let loose with the hammer, saw, drill, etc .
I'll try and get some pics together of the build. Might be useful as a guide on how to (or how not to ) build a large viv. |
