My 5-year-old son took our spider royal out of his viv for some handling time. He put the royal on the couch while he put his hide back in his viv. My 7-year-old didn't realize there was a snake in the couch and he jumped on it almost squashing the royal! My 5-year-old rushed to the couch and picked up the snake "saving" him from getting jumped on and, sure enough, the spider royal TAGGED him!

I was so proud of him though. He cried but he did not blame the snake at all. And it didn't stop him from handling the snake. I cleaned the blood dripping on his finger with peroxide and I couldn't find where he was *****ed. My son said he's fine he doesn't need a band-aid because it didn't hurt anymore.

But then, this is the same son that got bit by the hamster twice, and bit by the rat once, and got scratched by his cousin's cat. So, I guess he is used to it now...

Hah hah... yeah, him and his brother are still debating whose fault it was. He is claiming it was his older brother that scared the poor royal when he jumped on the couch. My older son is claiming it was his brother's fault for putting the royal on the couch in the first place. Round and round it goes until today. I'm still very happy that none of them even thought to blame the poor snake. Wooteewoo!

that would be my two blaming each other.

Give him a big hug from me for being so brave....

Has that been my oldest you would have thought he'd lost a finger not got bitten.
