whats the strike speed of a royal?

ooohhh... quite fast. this always amazes me. the hunting mode, the analytic processing to find the perfect spot to get the back of the head. that takes a bit of time. but then WHAM! strike and coil in one second flat!


Snake owner since Oct 2008, so yeah, I'm no expert.

they are very quick arent they?

I fed Echo today, first time in his new viv, had only just opened the viv glass dangled the rat and bang, it was so fast all i saw was him as he hit the rat, so he struck from probably three inches away...

i bet someone somewhere has recorded the fastest striking snake...lol..

would love to film Echo feeding, Peanut is lazy he just potters up to his food now, sniffs it then kills it..

One of my corns who i have for 4 years and my royal still make my heart almost leap out of me every time they strike, think it`s the speed and the whack the poor mouse gets.

I think faster then 1 second! lol...
Couple days ago was my first time feeding a snake or watching it eat something live, instead of on tv, and it knocked me off my feet! All I had to say is WWWOOOWWW! Amazing, really!
