Just noticed this last night when feeding Sherman. Normally when he strikes he hits the back of the neck every time without fail. Had to brain a rat last night to encourage him to take it. Doing the usual puppet show with said rat over the edge of the viv and he very slowly and deliberately manouvered around to its throat and bit down. He only threw a loop around it when I wiggled it a bit. Anyone else's Royals do this with brained rats?

I've not seen Princess do that, she either strikes or ignores it completely.

He scoped it out first like he normally does but there was no strike it was more of a throttle. Same kind of kill that you see lions doing. Crush the windpipe kind of thing.

with Stig I have never been able to see what he is doing, he strikes so quick and with no warning, he even struck from his hide the other day, I had only had the door open less than a second.
Sabine checks hers out a touch then nails it like there is no tomorrow.
