i have just got another young royal.can any one tell me please if i put my stat probe on the heat mat and sit the rub on top will this be as good as putting the stat probe inside the rub.i still put the thermometers in side the rub.

hi, i have both my probes inside the rub on top of the substrate inside the hot end hide.
I have the temps set at 31

my temps are 31-32c hot end.i was just wondering if my stst probe would do the same job if on top of the heat mat out side the rub.i think it will but just wont to be sure.also my rubs set up in a viv.all ready for when she gets a bit bigger.

i guess you could as long as you have the digital thermometer probe inside the hot end hide so as to make sure the temps are right.

I have my stat probe outside directly on the heat mat. And my temp probe inside the viv under the substrate (didn't want the royal to dislodge it).
