Hi Iam new to keeping a royal python or any snake come to that , Ive had my one about two wks now and was told by the pet shop his this years baby .My pobblem is hi not feed since Ive had him ,Ive tryed lots of ways cutting the mouse putting the snake in a small dark box with the snake ect.The viv is the right temp ect and small 2ft- 1 1/2.Can any one help me is the the normal for them and can i leave him any longer before i take him back so they can force feed him which I dont like the sound off MANY THNX

Do you have any pictures of your set up? people can generally get a MUCh better idea of any potential reasons if you do.

tbh you should have left him a week before trying to feed him anyway, so technically he's only missed one feed... which is pretty normal anyway :D

sure others are about who can help too...

hi and welcome,personly i would of thought that 2' viv would of been way too big for a snake of that size,it may be a good idea to keep him in a small fuanarium for now or at least really pack the viv out with lots of foliage ect so he has lots of coverage

as lee says smaller viv would be good. at 60grm i would keep it in a 9l RUB with 3 or more hides small water bowl some fake plants and a stated heat mat under 1/4-1/3 of it.

Get the viv as cramped as possible, 4 or 5 hides, lots of fake plants etc, it will feel a lot more secure.

I'm going to move this to the 'General Keeping Section' in a bit as you will get more responses there.
