Hi all, I've had a corn for about six months now and everythings working out ok. and now I've got the bug. I'm have'nt decided what to get next. I could get another corn and try and breed them or I quite like the look of the Royal Pythons. My corn will probalby be moveing into a wooden viv come January/Febuary. I have read up on Royals but I'm still unsure to what size rub it would need. I've read they start out in 9L RUBS. I have a spare small faun would this be ok? And at adult size is it true they will be happy in a 50L RUB (71cm x 44cm x 23cm)It sounds a bit small?
These are the fauns I have at the moment
My corn is in the bigger faun now. Would a royal be ok in the smaller one and for a few months. when my corn moves into the wooden viv I could then move the royal into the larger faun. As the royal gets bigger Could I then place him in a 50L RUB and place it on top of my corns wooden viv?
Sorry for all the question, but I want to do the right thing for the snakes.
the python would be fine in the faun but they are much stronger than corns so may be able to pop the lid open. thats why must people use RUBS as the clips are on the outside and are very sucure. 50L RUBs are fine for adults but dont look as good as a viv.
cheers guys thanks for the info, i'm sure what ever I get will end up in a proper viv, but I have also read that royals prefer rubs as the rub itself acts as a hide so helps the royal to feel more secure.
Cheers Brads (sorry if I don't reply to any threads as I'm away now for 24 hrs
