i was feeling a bit bored this morning while the mrs was shopping,so thought i would be a bit creative and sawed myself a apple tree branch stripped it,took longer than i thought but looks really nice.

Only problem was she came home early and was not amused and did'nt agree with me using her new potato peeler,which is perfect for stripping bark.going to put some threaded bar in the end and bolt to the side of viv.

i think you owe your OH a new peeler 
looks great but one thing i found doing this is the wood distorts as it dries out, might be worth baking it in the over to kill any beasties living in it and to thoroughly dry it out  |

had it in the oven on a low heat for a hour or so,is that long enough.It was to hot to hold and dry,Do i need to seal it or leave it o'naturel. |

I second that, shame my Mum had her apple tree cut down not so long ago. Might see if theres any odd branches lying round. |

That looks great lee, i might see what I can find aswell. Are there any common tree woods that shouldnt be used in vivs? |

thanks everyone,saved myself a few quid and you appreciate it more if you do it yourself .Remember the potato peeler tip but buy your own and not the mrs |
