frequency of shedding varies with growth. usually when Royals are young they're growing quite quickly, as adults their growth rate slows down and so does the frequency of shedding. a Royal that's eating well and growing fast might shed every 4-6 weeks, one that's a bit of a picky or a sporadic feeder will usually shed less often. for example, if they go through a good feeding patch they may shed more frequently and then less frequently if they start being fussy again or when the 'growth spurt' slows down. |
