I've got a 100W in a 3'x21"x18" viv, but to keep the temps up it is on a lot of the time and I am thinking that I should have gone for a 150W maybe. 250W sounds over the top, but I'm not sure if that is a problem when used with a thermostat. And I'm not an expert...

250w for a 3footer sounds quite a big bulb, if it's on a stat (which i know it will be with you ) it'll only be running on about one tenth of it's potential, not sure what that does to the longevity of ceramic bulbs?

went to SnA and had a chat with paul. he said that cos its on a stat it really didnt make a difference cos it wouldnt be running at full power. He said by running it at low power should increase its life span other than having a low power one running flat out.
the 250w are same price as 150w thats only reason i went for it.
