found a site that says calci-sand is good for royals...

never heard of sand being recommended for use with snakes before...

i got that chart when i was googling for sani-chips...

when the sani-chips bag appeared it was under the additional information tab...

No wonder alot of owners go wrong with substrate when the wrong information is on offer/given.

I agree that pet shops dont often know much, and yes, alot of bad info like that is passed around.

they should know their stuff about what they're selling................. but that advice is a load of bol***ks!!!

That's the reason we try not to buy reptiles from PetSmart or those big box pet stores in the US unless you really know what you're looking for. They get some WC royals for $10 apiece and sell it at $69. They don't train any of their employees about these reptiles so that one time I went to PetSmart to look at their snake and asked if I could hold it and the guy says, no you are not supposed to hold these snakes as they are venomous!


Snake owner since Oct 2008, so yeah, I'm no expert.

unfortunately its the same over here in many places
