I should be going at the weekend and thought I'd have a peek at their website, where I came across this...
"Royal pythons are popular as pets and are often seen in zoological parks and private collections. They are, however, very difficult to breed in captivity. Most royal pythons that are available have therefore been caught in the wild. For each snake reaching this country several others have died, either in the hunter’s traps, during the journey, or in pet shops. Those imported snakes which do survive often find it difficult to adjust to captive conditions and often refuse to eat. Royal pythons are therefore not recommended as pets. "

I have to say, for such a famous zoo, what a load of cr*p.
Maybe like years ago most were WC therefore didn't fare well but not nowadays? |

If you think about it, each animal is essetialy an attraction. If you see something every day (have it as a pet) its not so interesting and can lose the wow factor. Saying they're bad pets keeps people coming to see them because they wont keep them personaly.
Im not sure on the ratio between WC and CB. A long while bag GP posted about many WC royals being brought into the country in teriible conditions. |

Yeah I can see if from that point of view but I would have thought being factual was more of an importance. Maybe not.
The ratio is surely more CB than WC now? |

Not sure Mulv- I see loads of WC or WF royals about. That is why I would always advise that people buy from a breeder rather than a rep shop. Most shops still ship them in I think. |

Really? That's a bit frightening, you mean that shops are selling them as CB or they are being honest about them being WC?
I'd love to know a breeder as a go to rather than a shop but it's not as easy finding them. |

Mine was CF and cheaper than a lot of shops. I haven't seen anything marked as WC in shops as of yet though. |
