I've just got my first royal python and am really pleased. He looks like he's about to shed as his eyes have gone cloudy looking. How long is it from this stage till he would have completley shed his skin?

I'm new to snakes, but my breeder said it can be anything from 24 hours to a few days, the best thing to do is check your humidity, if he has a incomplete shed (not all in 1 go) put him in a damp pillow case, tied up, so he can't get out, & that should do the trick

First of all his eyes will clear and he will appear to return to normal, then usually within a few days they shed.

We put in a humidity hide when his eyes clear. The last couple of times we have found the shed a few days later in the hide.

I told the man in the shop where i got him from and he said he would get the bits off, which was great as there was some on his eye as well as a few bits on the rest of him. He bathed him first and then removed the remaining skin. Now he looks so much better and seems happier in himself.
