spoke to soon...back to the drawing board...new guards is next resort to try and improve air circulation around ceramic to stop heat build up.
am i overly worrying about the heat transfer...inside the upper viv, the floor is 32*C which means the roof of the lower one is hotter than that.
Just i just leave it and stop worring...??? |

Does it matter that much, as long as the ceramic is directly below the warm side of the viv above?
Because you could just turn the heat in the top one down to compensate for the warmth from below.
Or am I losing my marbles? |

Have you tried a refelctor Daz? Is the top hot enough to get burnt on?
Your right Mulv, I think Becuase the ceramics are on stats, shouldnt the one above just be running alot less? |

well it means i can house a snake in there with no additional heating source...
just worried about the wood over heating and starting to scorch/burn...???
gonna look at a reflector matty aswell, wen i ran it with no guard last week the temp was significantly lower in the upper viv. |

its gonnna be a royal above and a corn below.(started with the middle viv)
Left it to settle for a few days and the top viv has cooled down with just directly above the holde that is warm (29*C). The roofof the viv near the ceramamic is still getting hot(40*C) so i am waiting on some reflectors to hopefully sort it.
Other than that im almost ready to go. Should be all sorted by sunday... |
