It could be that he's hunting for more just in case. How big is he and how much/how often are you feeding him?

that's a good point, Ra was quite hyperactive after his feed last night too

He is at most 2 foot,but probably not quite that yet. I feed him every tuesday and I give him a decent sized rat pup. It takes him maybe 5 minutes to get it down so I assumed that it was enough.

Any idea of weight?

Just for comparison, mine get Rat Pups every 5 day up to about 150-200g (depending on girth) and then move over to Weaners still every 5 days up to 400g then every 7 days to 800g (increasing size of Rat as appropriate).

Oh erm, I have no idea of his weight. Is that an important thing? No one has ever mentioned me weighing the snake before, I thought it was a breeder thing. Should iI get some scales then?

Its by no means essential, however, it does give you a good idea of your snake's progress and if it ever stops eating you can monitor to make sure it's not losing weight etc.
